Topic synopsis:

In this lecture, Dr Henderson discusses the various forms of creativity and how creative expression contributes to a balanced life. He reflects, after decades of first-hand experience, on the roles of visualisation, obsession, and experimentation in the creation of new scientific theorems and unique artworks. In this talk he draws upon his personal experiences, in addition to past conversations with artists, Nobel prize winners and film directors, to illuminate the similarities and differences in creative approaches used by scientists and artists to realise their ideas. Many of the examples can be applied to enhance our everyday quality of life.
