Discussion of high profile litigation and the use of class actions and discrimination law as a vehicle for social change. Why providing access to justice for these litigants matter and how change can be effected through litigation.

Claire O'Connor is senior counsel of Villeneuve Chambers, Adelaide. Claire has extensive experience in both criminal and civil law. She specialises in matters human rights, women's issues and coronial inquests. She was admitted to practice in 1980 and appointed senior counsel in 2014.

Educated at the University of Otago, New Zealand, Claire's body of work demonstrates that she is not afraid to challenge the status quo of society or the legal profession.

Claire has represented a number of litigants in landmark decisions in public and criminal law.
