Ever thought of sitting for your very own portrait at the National Portrait Gallery in Canberra?
Well, now is your chance while artist and Charles Sturt University (CSU) student Mr Tony Curran is a visiting artist at the Gallery in the national capital
Until Sunday 10 November, Mr Curran, from Wagga Wagga in regional NSW, will be sketching free digital portraits of visitors to the Gallery using the iPad application Brushes.
The visiting artist program, entitled "As long as you are here", is part of Mr Curran's PhD research project into portraiture and the role of digital arts within contemporary arts practice.
Mr Curran said, "My work explores the contemporary self and its relationship to the portrait form. I am inspired by the practice of drawing and develop it through a range of media including screen-based media, digital printmaking, painting and participatory art practices."

Mr Curran has been an artist in residence at Fraser Studios in Sydney and the Museum of the Riverina in Wagga Wagga.
He is doing a PhD through the School of Communication and Creative Arts at CSU in Wagga Wagga. Mr Curran also lectures in art history and media arts at the University.
