Charles Sturt University (CSU) has finalised sale of the South Campus in Wagga Wagga to Signature Care, for development of an aged care facility.
The facility will provide for improved care of those living with dementia in Wagga.
CSU will continue to have a presence at South Campus in the Blakemore building, with CSU Riverina Archives continuing to operate until moving to CSU’s campus at Boorooma in the next five years.
The Riverina Conservatorium of Music will remain at South Campus until their planned re-location to Johnston Street.
CSU Executive Director, Division of Facilities Management Stephen Butt said that the finalisation of the sale of South Campus came after two years, with CSU working with the community to find the right purchaser.
“We’re pleased to hand over South Campus to Signature Care knowing that the site will be used for the public good,’ Mr Butt said.
“We are committed to strong financial management and ensuring our campus locations deliver the best possible value for the University.
“It was time to move from South Campus to consolidate our location in Boorooma, and while we take many memories with us, we look forward to seeing its development as Signature Care’s plans come together.”
