Charles Sturt University has hosted NSW Smart Sensing Network (NSSN), industry leaders and local government for workshops to discuss how smart sensors can help tackle challenges in health, agriculture, environment, and other fields.
On Thursday 8 June representatives from NSSN met with Toustone, AlburyCity Council, Regional Development Australia Murray and Marathon Health at Charles Sturt University in Albury.
The workshops were followed by a dinner and networking event held that evening at the Atura Hotel in Albury, hosted by Professor Michael Friend, Charles Sturt University Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation).
NSSN is an NSW Government network funded through the Office of the NSW Chief Scientist & Engineer. It brings together universities, industry and government to translate research into innovative smart sensing solutions that create value for NSW's economy, environment and society.
Since taking up membership in 2022, Charles Sturt has been closely engaged with the NSSN, participating in the annual Grand Challenge Fund program in February 2023.
As a NSSN member Charles Sturt can access research funding via the annual NSSN Grand Challenges re bushfires, water, COVID-19, ageing, smart places, and mining.
