Charles Sturt University in Port Macquarie is offering Year 12 students a head-start on their final exams at the 2023 HSC Study Days.

The workshops will be held across three days, from Tuesday 4 July to Thursday 6 July, with sessions from 9am to 4pm.

Charles Sturt Future Student Marketing Coordinator, Ms Kristen-Leigh Carter, said the study days cover three major areas of learning in the lead-up to the students’ final exams.

“A range of subjects will be covered, including Advanced and Standard Maths, Advanced and Standard English, and Chemistry,” Ms Carter said.

“This also ensures all levels of academic abilities are supported, and everyone can get the help they need for the best chance to excel.”

The workshops provide regional students in Port Macquarie with free access to expert HSC teachers and markers who can share invaluable advice and support, reducing some of the stress on exam day.

Sessions will be offered on the following days:

  • Tuesday 4 July: Advanced and Standard English
  • Wednesday 5 July: Advanced and Standard Maths
  • Thursday 6 July: Chemistry

Students can elect to attend one, two or three days, depending on the subjects they would like to focus on in preparation for their final exams.

Ms Carter said the workshops will be held in Charles Sturt’s world-class teaching facilities, giving students an insight into life as a university student.

“Welcoming the Year 12 students to our Charles Sturt University campus not only lets them familiarise themselves with the location, but gives them a taste of university life, and what their future could look like beyond their HSC exams,” Ms Carter said.

“In past years, there’s been huge success from the study days. In 2022, 97 per cent of attendees said they felt more prepared and ready for their HSC exams after attending the sessions.”

A free lunch will be provided on the day. Each session can be booked online at the HSC Study Day website, with registrations closing at 4pm on Monday 3 July.
