Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga is strengthening its commitment to helping young learners by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with The Riverina Anglican College (TRAC).

The partnership fosters collaboration in education, infrastructure, use of facilities and community engagement by providing opportunities for students and staff from both institutions to exchange knowledge and expertise.

Executive Dean in the Charles Sturt Faculty of Arts and Education Professor John McDonald attended the signing event on Thursday 26 September at TRAC’s Dr Ian Grant Library, alongside several guests from the University and school.

“This MoU holds significant strategic value, deepening our partnership and fostering collaborative initiatives that drive regional growth and development for the benefit of both our institutions and the broader community,” Professor McDonald said.

“Not only this, but by signing the MoU we are establishing a solid foundation for future partnerships and reinforcing the commitment to excellence in education and community engagement.”

The MoU will serve a number of key benefits for both the University and TRAC, including providing resources and information around the Charles Sturt Advantage Early Entry Program, access to Charles Sturt student and alumni ambassadors for tailored school presentations and invitations to Career Adviser Seminars and development sessions.

It will also support community outreach programs between the two organisations, collaborative sustainability projects, cultural exchange programs and more.

The Riverina Anglican College Principal Mr Craig Mansour said the MoU was a positive step forward in the already beneficial relationship between the two organisations.

“This MoU represents a continued forging of the already strong relationship between our two fine institutions,” Mr Mansour said.

“We look forward to the many opportunities it will afford students and educators from both institutions and the long-term impact the initiatives will have for the broader Riverina community.”

Charles Sturt and TRAC already work collaboratively on student placements in Teacher Education, with TRAC having hosted 12 Education students on placement in 2024 alone, and extending this to include a Bachelor of Human Services student on placement at TRAC’s Student Wellbeing Hub.
