With schools across Australia likely to need 3 000 teacher librarians in the coming years, a CSU academic last week highlighted the growing shortfall when she addressed a Federal parliament committee in Canberra investigating the problem.

A subject that successfully combines traditional teaching and online interactive tools to enhance student learning has earned its CSU creators an international award for innovative teaching.

Two leading academics will deliver keynote addresses at the annual CSU conference for its academics, CSUEd 2010, at the University in Bathurst on Wednesday 10 and Thursday 11 November.

Thousands of family members and friends of graduates are expected to throng to the city when the annual graduation ceremonies are held at CSU in Bathurst next week. Approximately 1 195 graduates will receive their academic awards from Chancellor Lawrie Willett, AO, at six graduation ceremonies on Wednesday 5, Thursday 6 and Friday 7 May with a combined guest attendance expected to be about 4 000. A further 838 students will graduate in absentia.

CSU will hold three graduation ceremonies in Albury from Thursday morning, 22 April, with 730 graduates eligible to receive their doctorates, degrees, diplomas and certificates.
