There will be a few extra cyclists at Charles Sturt University (CSU) in Wagga Wagga after some of the University's schools recently received pushbikes for staff use. CSU Green, the University's sustainability unit, presented a bike each to the Faculty of Arts and the School of Biomedical Sciences, and one surprise delivery to Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Professor Ken Dillon. The bikes will help staff travel across campus, and work towards CSU Green's mission to reduce emissions, create a more vibrant, healthy campus lifestyle, and to promote active means of transport. Professor Dillon thanked CSU Green and CSU's Division of Facilities Management for the bike, and is hoping more people choose to cycle to, from and around the campus in 2014. Accepting the bike on behalf of the arts faculty, Executive Dean Professor Jennifer McKinnon said, "I've passed on the message to staff – the Faculty of Arts has to be the 'fit faculty'." The bikes were purchased from Kidsons Cycles in Wagga Wagga, who were the successful applicants from an expression of interest process. Kidsons, who generously donated two of the bikes to CSU, will do any regular or emergency maintenance on the bikes for the next three years. Staff at CSU in Port Macquarie campus received five bikes earlier this month.
