- Foundation Legacy Society luncheon is an historic moment for Charles Sturt University
The Charles Sturt University Foundation launched its inaugural Charles Sturt Legacy Society luncheon in the James Hardy room Bathurst on Monday 27 November.
Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation Trust Ms Sarah Ansell welcomed 24 guests to the luncheon, saying it was an historic ‘coming of age’ moment for the University.
“The event acknowledges and celebrates donors who have confirmed they have left a bequest in their Will to Charles Sturt University,” Ms Ansell said.
“The Legacy Society event is a way to celebrate and thank our legacy donors now, in their lifetimes, for their gifts.”
Donors who have been actively involved with the Foundation for many years attended, as well as others who have indicated an interest in learning more about the bequest program.
The lunch was hosted by Patron of the Charles Sturt Legacy Society, Dr Peter Hodgson, who signed the first legacy gift for the University back in the mid 1980’s.
Charles Sturt Vice-Chancellor, Professor Renée Leon, PSM, spoke at the event and presented a Legacy Society pin to six confirmed bequestors as part of the formal recognition process.
Charles Sturt Deputy Chancellor Dr Saranne Cooke also attended the luncheon.
Dr Libbey Murray in the Charles Sturt School of Education delivered a presentation about the new Teachers Aide Pathway Program.
