- Charles Sturt University to host online sessions on careers in agriculture, animals and environment on Tuesday 26 and Wednesday 27 May
Australia’s agricultural sector is facing one of the most significant workforce shortages in decades and Charles Sturt University is helping to fill the shortages by equipping its future workforce.
Charles Sturt is inspiring the next generation of the agricultural and veterinary science professionals with two interactive online sessions to open doors to careers in agriculture, animals and the environment.
The Careers in Agriculture, Animals and Environment online information nights are open to parents, teachers, students in Years 10 to 12 and anyone seeking a career change, including those with a vet qualification.
Attendees will hear from industry experts, academics, graduates and current students about the diverse career options in agriculture, environment, and animal, equine and veterinary sciences and how Charles Sturt’s hands-on industry courses ensure graduates are career ready.
Head of Charles Sturt’s School of Agricultural, Environmental and Veterinary Sciences Professor Hayley Randle said Charles Sturt is committed to building a workforce through practical, industry-connected education.
“Building the future agricultural, animal and veterinary workforce is essential for Australia’s sustainability and food security,” she said.
“These information nights give future students, schools, industry and community members a clear insight into the exciting, meaningful careers, both on farm and off farm, available across agriculture, animals and the environment.”
