Booranga Writers’ Centre at Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga will launch the latest edition of its long-running fourW thirty-three: New Writing anthology in Wagga Wagga and Sydney at the end of the month.
Senior Lecturer in English in the Charles Sturt School of Social Work and Arts Dr Lachlan Brown said, “fourW thirty-three is as old as the University and is Australia’s longest-running regional literary journal.
“It’s a high-quality, multi-layered slice of the contemporary writing scene that features nearly fifty poems and a dozen stories from writers from around Australia and overseas, and work by Booranga’s visiting writers-in-residence.
“fourW thirty-three has always been committed to fostering new writing in this region, especially by publishing it in the context of national and international writing communities.”
Of particular note, are new works by current and former Charles Sturt students and staff, including Dr Lachlan Brown, John Harper, Mark Macleod, Melanie Weckert, Dr Neill Overton, Jane Downing, Steve Sharman, Karen Jamieson, Claire Baker, Sandra Robins and David Gilbey.
fourW thirty-three’s luminous cover art is by Charles Sturt alumnus Derek Motion.
