- Grants support community-based initiatives across the Charles Sturt footprint in regional Australia
The popular Charles Sturt Community University Partnership (CUP) Grants Program opened again on Wednesday 1 March.
The program is open to schools, community groups and individuals and offers grants of up to $1,000 for projects that benefit local communities through arts and culture, education, health and wellbeing, environmental sustainability, or sport.
Charles Sturt Director of External Engagement in Bathurst and Orange, Ms Julia Andrews, said the CUP Grants program is a great funding initiative that delivers benefits for communities at the local level.
“Our CUP Grants are really popular as they allow a range of community groups to seek funding for worthwhile projects that may not have happened without financial support,” Ms Andrews said.
“From creating new learning spaces at schools, to sustainability projects that instil the importance of looking after our environment to children, to initiatives that support First Nations participation and recognition, every project has a positive impact on the local communities they serve.”
Ms Andrews encourages all who have an idea for community development to apply.
“The application process is not complicated, and we encourage groups keen to develop a community-based initiative to submit an application,” Ms Andrews said.
Grants are open to all schools, community organisations and individuals who reside in the following Charles Sturt University campus locations of Orange, Bathurst, Dubbo, Port Macquarie, Wagga Wagga, Albury-Wodonga, and Wangaratta.
Applications for the CUP Grants opened on Wednesday 1 March and will close on Wednesday 5 April.
Applications can be made via the 'Grants' page on the Charles Sturt website.
