Acclaimed Australian novelist Sue Woolfe is among those who will tutor aspiring writers at the first Winter Writing Workshops to be held at Charles Sturt University’s Bathurst Campus.

The Winter Writing Workshops are being held as part of the Mitchell School of Creative Arts July program, in addition to its traditional visual arts courses.

Ms Woolfe, author of the award-winning Leaning Towards Infinity will conduct a week-long writing seminar for developing writers, from Monday 14 to Friday 19 July.

The Winter Writing Workshop is being run by CSU’s Continuing Professional Education Centre (CPEC), in conjunction with the NSW Government funded Central West Writers’ Centre (CWWC).

CWWC coordinator, Justin Byrne said the workshop would be an ideal opportunity to learn from a novelist of Ms Woolfe’s experience.

“The workshop will feature group workshops, one-to-one discussions, and importantly, time to write in the surrounds of the CSU Bathurst Campus,” he said.

Editor Rhonda Whitton will provide advice for writers seeking to find a publisher, or to write and sell feature articles, during two separate one-day workshops on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 July respectively.

A second weekend workshop on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 July will provide guidance for those wishing to write their life story.

The Mitchell School of Creative Arts is run by Charles Sturt University’s Continuing Professional Education Centre (CPEC) and has been held twice a year for more than 20 years.

For further information about the Winter Writing Workshop contact CPEC on (02) 6338 4746, or the Central West Writer’s Centre Coordinator, Justin Byrne on (02) 6393 8125.
