Charles Sturt University (CSU) officials will welcome executives from universities in China when they visit the University’s Bathurst Campus on Thursday 1 March to discuss the evolving relationship between the higher education institutions.
“Our discussions will focus on opportunities in three areas,” said CSU Vice-Chancellor Ian Goulter. “Firstly, we will discuss the expansion of collaborative programs and the possibility of improving delivery of these courses. Secondly, we will consider an agreement on offering new streams and levels in our collaborative programs.
“Finally, we will discuss the implementation of the Australian Government’s Quality Framework for Transnational Education, which aims to ensure the high quality and integrity of Australian education and training in all locations in which it is delivered outside Australia.”
Professor Goulter said he was delighted to welcome this senior delegation from Yunnan University of Finance and Economics, and the Changchun Taxation College, which have an existing partnership with CSU, and executives from Dali University which is a potential partner. “It marks a significant stage in the development of the relationship between our universities.
“CSU already has experience in working with Yunnan University of Finance and Economics and Changchun Taxation College, with the University’s Faculty of Business offering a collaborative Bachelor of Business Studies”, Professor Goulter said.
Professor John Hicks, Dean of the Faculty of Business said that the Faculty aims to develop the relationship further with both Universities. “Student numbers in the CSU Bachelor of Business Studies at these Universities are set to increase substantially. This expansion is the result of the increased level of activity between these Universities and CSU. Our staff makes regular visits to teach and engage our partner staff in academic workshops.
“The Faculty hopes to discuss a similar relationship with the executives from Dali University,” he said.
