Game on winnersCharles Sturt University's (CSU's) business simulation competition Game On has concluded another year of competition, inspiring future business leaders from across NSW and Victoria.

The virtual business game is organised by CSU's School of Marketing and Management and allows Years 10 and 11 student teams to create their own virtual business and compete for regional prizes for their schools of $1 000 and $2 500. The winning team members also receive individual prizes.

Game On has been run on an annual basis for the past four years. This year, 38 schools and 891 students competed with Canberra Grammar School taking out the major prize.

"Hands on experience is vital for a successful start in the business sector and it's never too young to start learning," Head of the School of Management and Marketing and Simulation Coordinator Associate Professor Mark Frost said.

"Students have to create their own virtual business and ensure its success in a simulated market environment. The competition is designed to complement the Stage 6 NSW Business Studies curriculum and covers topics including finance, human resource management, marketing, and operations.

"We hope that by giving students the opportunity to create their own business and test their skills in a simulated environment, we might spark a passion for business or inspire the world's next great entrepreneurs."

Maclean High received the regional prize for the Mid-North Coast region, Westfield Sport High for the Central West, and Benalla P-12 College for Albury.

Game On will return in 2016. For more information visit the Game On website.
