The range of vocational qualifications offered by Charles Sturt University (CSU) Training will be on show at its annual graduation ceremony to be held at CSU in Wagga Wagga on Thursday 28 November.
Head of CSU in Wagga Wagga Ms Miriam Dayhew will open the ceremony at 11am in the University’s Convention Centre. Delivering the occasional address will be CSU Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Andrew Vann.
CSU Training is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) operated by Charles Sturt Services Ltd, a company wholly owned by CSU. It delivers nationally recognised vocational qualifications by distance education in health, training and assessment, and management to CSU staff, university students and external clients.
Highlights of the CSU Training graduation ceremony include:
- The presentation of more than 290 vocational qualifications to graduates. Almost 60 graduates are expected to attend the ceremony.
- Seventeen Charles Sturt Campus Services Ltd (CSCS) staff completed the PRM30104 Certificate III in Asset Maintenance (Cleaning Operations) through CSU Training. Several of these have gone on from the cleaning qualification to also do Certificate IV in Frontline Management, Diploma of Management and a new unit, Implement and Monitor Environmentally Sustainable Work Practices.
This includes CSCS Team Training Manager Mr Graham Biddle, who has now completed through CSU Training a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, Diploma of Management, and a Certificate III in Asset Maintenance.
- In 2013, CSU Training delivered a new unit, BSBSUS301A Implement and Monitor Environmentally Sustainable Work Practices. CSU Training Business Programs Coordinator Ms Judy Doulman secured a CSU Sustainability Grant from CSU Green in 2012 to deliver the new unit of competency to 100 staff. This included staff from CSU in Albury-Wodonga, Bathurst, Dubbo, Goulburn, Orange and Wagga Wagga.
“This new sustainability program has been a great initiative and has exceeded expectations in both engagement and outcomes, Ms Doulman said. “Both the facilitators, myself and CSU Green and the students undertaking the program have been empowered by the knowledge we are supporting Charles Sturt University as a leader in the in the field of sustainability aiming to be greenhouse neutral by 2015.”
