A human movement expert at CSU and the Western Region Academy of Sport have been honoured with a prestigious international award for strength and conditioning training provided to teenage athletes.

Three graduation ceremonies to be staged by CSU will be held for the first time in Thurgoona from this Friday morning, 16 December.

The high level of skills and speed seen at the recent Newton's Nation event in Bathurst weren't limited to the competitors, with students from Charles Sturt University's Bachelor of Arts (Television Production) also scoring top marks.

The new campus of CSU in Port Macquarie will be officially opened by Senator the Hon. Chris Evans, Minister for Tertiary Education, Skills, Science and Research on Tuesday 1 May. Member for Lyne, Mr Rob Oakeshott, MP, will also attend the formal ceremony, which will begin with an academic procession at 10.30am, followed by a 'Welcome to Country' by Aboriginal Elder Mr William O'Brien ('Uncle Bill').

The proposed expansion of the paramedic program at CSU will lead to a better trained workforce to meet the complex needs of modern emergency care and will save lives. The proposal is as part of CSU's $63.6 million bid to the Education Investment Fund to expand health disciplines taught at CSU in Orange and Bathurst.

Distance education students with CSU can take part in orientation sessions, group workshops, and individual meetings when a CSU support team embarks on its next round of visits to towns across NSW.

For 18-year-old Stuart Dundas, of Faulconbridge, NSW, starting university this month will be particularly exciting.

It's not everyday that a brother and sister graduate together, but that's a highlight of the CSU Faculty of Business graduation ceremonies on Friday 16 December in Bathurst.

In response to graduate feedback, CSU will stage its annual graduations in December 2011. Approximately 1 041 students will graduate at six ceremonies at CSU in Bathurst this week.
