* CSU named Business of the Year in Port Macquarie business awards

* CSU wins two other categories, for human resources, and education and training

Charles Sturt University (CSU) was presented with three awards in the 2018 Holiday Coast Credit Union Greater Port Macquarie Business Awards on Saturday 28 July.

CSU was named the 2018 Business of the Year and won awards in two categories in which it was a finalist − the Outstanding Employer of Choice (HR) category, and the Childcare, Education and Training (Learning and Teaching area) category.

CSU Vice-Chancellor Professor Andrew Vann said, “This is a fantastic result for the University and a wonderful acknowledgement of the hard work of our staff and students to establish and develop our presence in the region and contribute to the community.

“The category awards reflect staff morale and the wonderful campus in Port Macquarie, and the University’s contribution to being a leader in the community.

“The University is proud to be associated with the Port Macquarie Business Chamber, and is both grateful and humbled to have won these awards.

“To be recognised alongside other high achieving businesses and organisations, both in the area of learning and teaching and as an outstanding employer of choice, is testament to the wonderful staff and students who study and work at the University in Port Macquarie.

“Well done and congratulations to all the finalists, and thank you to the Port Macquarie business and wider community for their continued support and faith in Charles Sturt University.”

CSU Pro Vice-Chancellor (Global Engagement and Partnerships) Professor Heather Cavanagh (pictured left) represented the University at the awards presentation dinner and received the awards on behalf of the University.

Professor Cavanagh said, “These awards are a testament to the hard work of Charles Sturt University staff, but they also reflect our approach which is to support local business and, in turn, recognises the strong support we receive from businesses and the community.”
