CSU's delivery of energy saving initiatives will be celebrated at a NSW government event next week.

Charles Sturt University's (CSU) delivery of energy saving initiatives will be celebrated at a NSW government event next week.

Manager of CSU Green Mr Ed MaherCSU is one of a selected number of NSW businesses to be recognised at the Energy Productivity in Action event, hosted by the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage (OEH).

The event acknowledges NSW businesses making significant energy productivity achievements.

CSU will be recognised for overall energy efficiency achievements and involvement in the OEH's Energy Saver program.

Manager of CSU Green, Mr Ed Maher said the NSW government recognition highlights CSU's commitment to achieving substantial energy savings and broader sustainability goals.

"We are making continuous progress in the energy-efficiency space across the University – from implementing university-wide building management information systems, to lighting refurbishments and the installation of our cogeneration plant at Bathurst, which will generate about 65 per cent of electricity used on campus.

"Charles Sturt University will take things further in 2015 with the implementation of an energy performance contract focusing on Bathurst and Wagga Wagga.

"Recognition from the NSW Government and other high-performing businesses in the energy-saving space is an achievement the Charles Sturt University community should be extremely proud of."

The Energy Productivity in Action event will be held at the Sydney Opera House on Thursday 18 June 2015.
