Charles Sturt University's (CSU) Chancellor Dr Michelle Allan and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research, Development and Industry) Professor Mary Kelly are travelling to Israel as part of an agri-food delegation organised by the Australia-Israel Chamber of Commerce.

Participants in the trade mission led by Mr Peter Schutz, Chairman, Food Innovation Australia Limited, include representatives from the Commonwealth and Victorian Governments, and the Australian food, agribusiness and research sector. One of the primary objectives of the mission is to understand more deeply Israel's role as a world leader in food and agribusiness innovation and commercialisation.

The delegation also aims to demonstrate the impact of the collaboration between industry, government and research in Israel and how the strategic integration of university and researcher inputs along the value chain is successfully achieved.

Professor Kelly said, "Charles Sturt University's participation in the trade mission to Israel is in support of our ongoing commitment to engaging with industry and organisations from the agricultural science and agribusiness disciplines."

"We look forward to learning about Israel's agri-food industry and understanding how agribusinesses, food producers, universities, government, researchers and organisations in Israel collaborate to tackle complex global issues. This provides us with the opportunity to enhance the design of the ecosystem in the AgriSciences Research and Business Park in Wagga Wagga"
