Free online telehealth course offered to medical practitioners

In the current environment health professionals may be looking to include the use of telehealth as a mode to deliver services within their current practice for both acute and chronic care.

Three Rivers University Department of Rural Health (TRUDRH) is encouraging health professionals to consider undertaking a course aimed at enhancing the delivery of health services to regional, rural and remote patients through telehealth.

‘Telehealth – Embracing Technology in Healthcare’ is a free online course offered by TRUDRH which provides an introduction to key concepts of telehealth.

Albury-Wodonga-based TRUDRH service coordinator Jacki Mansfield said in the current environment health professionals may be looking to include the use of telehealth as a mode to deliver services within their current practice for both acute and chronic care.

The course consists of four modules: Telehealth Overview, Telehealth Technology, Telehealth in Practice, and Sustainable Telehealth, and is available to all future and existing health professionals.

The course is designed as an introduction to telehealth, incorporating a range of interactive opportunities, patient scenarios, resources and guides based on current practice, with a high focus on telehealth service delivery in the TRUDRH footprint in the Murrumbidgee and Central West of New South Wales.
