Two CSU lecturers have been named in the annual UniJobs Lecturer of the Year Award top 10 .
The Award, now in its sixth year, is an initiative of UniJobs.com.au and aims to reward the efforts of diligent academic staff that have helped enrich the lives of students and work colleagues.
In 2012 more than 100 000 votes were cast, making it the most popular award to date.

Coming in at number eight was Dr Andrew Wallace, Adjunct Senior Lecturer in the School of Education at CSU in Wagga Wagga.
On what it takes to be a top university lecturer, Dr Kalle said, “A lecturer must really know his or her subjects to a very high level, not only content but also relevance in today’s world and engage the students in the subject.
“You need to have a strong narrative particularly for distance education students. By that I mean to encapsulate the whole subject in a flow of information that is logical and makes it relevant to the students. That is quite important in ‘dry’ science subjects.
“I build a relationship with the students, let them know what they can expect and make them feel respected and treated equally.”
Dr Kalle also suggests a love of lecturing.
“A sense of humour and being able to laugh at yourself also helps,” Dr Kalle said.
