Charles Sturt University will celebrate the class of 2020, announcing today that last year’s 5,800 graduates will be invited back onto campus to attend their graduation ceremony in 2021.

Held over four weeks the University is planning to host up to 38 ceremonies for graduates.

The graduation weeks will be held at Charles Sturt in Bathurst and Wagga Wagga from 31 May to 25 June.

Charles Sturt Interim Vice-Chancellor Professor John Germov said the University was excited to be able to confirm the new graduation ceremonies.

“Graduation is the culmination of years of hard work, and a unique opportunity to celebrate this achievement with peers, family and friends,” Professor Germov said.

“Acknowledging the importance of this milestone, the University has made it a priority to coordinate and confirm the rescheduled events for our 2020 graduates.

“Our graduation team is now undertaking the massive task of contacting thousands of graduates across Australia to give them not only the good news, but also as much opportunity as possible to plan to get to their ceremony.”

The ceremonies will be held at the University’s largest venues to accommodate as many guests as possible while meeting all COVID-safe requirements.

The events will include all the elements of a graduation, with guest alumni speakers, presentation of University Medals, professional photography sessions, and a hospitality area for graduates to socialise with friends and family following their ceremonies.

“It will be wonderful to have our 2020 graduates back on campus for what will be a fantastic opportunity for them to catch up with their Charles Sturt University community and share how their career has developed in 2021,” Professor Germov said.

Charles Sturt will also be contacting more than 4,000 graduates from its partner institutions, inviting them to attend ceremonies in August that will be held in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

The University will be contacting the graduates of 2020 via email and SMS. For further information regarding the graduation ceremonies go to https://www.csu.edu.au/current-students/your-course/graduation/class-of-2020-graduations
