Thousands get ready to celebrate at the Charles Sturt December graduation season

After years of COVID-19 pandemic disruptions Charles Sturt University will celebrate 20 end-of-year graduation ceremonies at its campuses from Monday 5 to Tuesday 20 December.

  • Charles Sturt University will host 20 graduation ceremonies at nine locations from Monday 5 to Tuesday 20 December
  • Approximately 2,700 graduates will join the more than 240,000-strong Charles Sturt alumni community
  • More than 10,000 family and friends are expected to attend the graduation ceremonies to celebrate the achievements of their graduate

After years of COVID-19 pandemic disruptions Charles Sturt University will celebrate 20 end-of-year graduation ceremonies at its campuses from Monday 5 to Tuesday 20 December.

Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) Professor Graham Brown said, “Graduation is one of our favourite times of the year and we look forward to welcoming our graduates and their families and friends to graduation ceremonies across all our campuses.

“Despite all the disruptions of COVID-19, our graduates have worked hard and remained committed to their studies, and they deserve to celebrate their achievements with their peers and supporters by their side.

“On behalf of Charles Sturt University, I congratulate all our students graduating in December and wish them all the very best with their future careers.

“They will soon join the ranks of our more than 240,000-strong alumni community and we are excited to follow their journey and see what they will accomplish next.”

Graduation ceremonies for all faculties will be held in:

  • Dubbo at 2pm on Monday 5 December for approximately 101 graduates
  • Bathurst at 10am and 3.30pm on Wednesday 7 and Thursday 8 December for approximately 889 graduates
  • Wagga Wagga at 10am and 3.30pm on Monday 12, Tuesday 13, and Wednesday 14; and at 3.30pm on Thursday 15; and at 10am Friday 16 December for approximately 1,122 graduates
  • Albury-Wodonga at 10am and 3.30pm on Tuesday 13 December for approximately 333 graduates
  • Orange at 2pm on Thursday 15 December for approximately 71 graduates
  • Port Macquarie at 10am and 3.30pm on Monday 19 December; and at 10am on Tuesday 20 December for approximately 287 graduates

Approximately 150 graduates of Charles Sturt partner Study Group Australia will attend ceremonies in Melbourne at the Grand Hyatt Melbourne at 3.30pm on Monday 5 December, and approximately 150 graduates at Rosehill in Sydney at 3.30pm on Thursday 8 December.

A ceremony will be held for graduates of the Charles Sturt School of Theology at St Patrick’s Cathedral in Parramatta at 3.30pm on Friday 9 December for approximately 37 graduates.

Note: graduate numbers are approximate pending further confirmations of attendance.

The University expects more than 10,000 family and friends will attend the graduation ceremonies to celebrate the achievements of their graduates.
