Thousands of dollars of scholarships available to Charles Sturt students

Applications for Charles Sturt scholarships, including accommodation and Droder scholarships, are on offer to commencing and continuing students, with a closing date of Tuesday 14 January.

Thousands of dollars worth of scholarships are available to current and first-year students at Charles Sturt University (Charles Sturt).

Applications are open for accommodation and scholarship funding for first-year and continuing students at Charles Sturt in Wagga Wagga, Albury-Wodonga, Bathurst, Dubbo, Orange, and Port Macquarie.

The Carole and Stan Droder Prize is one-off payment of $1,000 open to first-year undergraduate students who are residents on campus to purchase textbooks, software, and other study materials.

The Carole and Stan Droder Scholarship is valued at $20,000, paid in two $10,000 instalments, for continuing students, excluding Honours and postgraduate studies.

Stan and Carole Droder were committed to enabling students achieve higher education goals and their legacy to the University is allowing students to reach their potential.

Applications for both of these scholarships are open until 11.59pm on Tuesday 14 January.

The Charles Sturt University Foundation Accommodation Scholarship is available to commencing and continuing students and is a one-off payment of $5,000 to be paid directly off the cost of on-campus accommodation.

Applications for this scholarship also close at 11.59pm on Tuesday 14 January.

A range of other accommodation scholarships valued between $2,000 and $7,900 are also currently available to apply for.

Director of the Charles Sturt Advancement Office Ms Sarah Ansell said there are scholarships to suit all students’ needs and encouraged students to apply.

“Charles Sturt University awards a range of scholarships intended to support a range of students with a variety of needs,” she said.

“Some are based on academic performance but others are based on financial need, home location, community involvement or dedication to a particular area of study.

“Students should look carefully at what is available and apply.”

Charles Sturt awards $3 million in scholarships and grants annually to assist students to access higher education.
