- Online website provides valuable study resources for NSW HSC exams
- Website developed and maintained through Charles Sturt University
- Website provides study tips and guides to senior students and their parents for the HSC
A website designed and maintained by Charles Sturt University (Charles Sturt) will provide valuable learning and study materials in the lead up to the final NSW High School Certificate (HSC) exams later this year.
“As Year 12 high school students across NSW prepare for mid-year and HSC Trial exams in coming months, students, teachers and parents will be searching for credible, reliable resources to prepare for these and their major HSC exams at the end of the year,” said Mr Paul Grover, an expert educator and lecturer with the Charles Sturt School of Education in Albury-Wodonga.
“The Charles Sturt University Guide for HSC Students website provides direct links for all students to such resources that are directly related to each of the HSC subject areas.
“Many schools, libraries and professional curriculum associations across the state have recognised this by providing direct access to the site on their library and school websites.”
Designed for Year 11 and 12 students in NSW high schools, the Charles Sturt University Guide for HSC Students website is regularly reviewed by top teachers, professional educators and librarians well versed in the current NSW syllabus.
“The site provides links to freely accessible online resources for quality learning and teaching in a wide range of major subjects, as well as languages and more specialised subject areas,” Mr Grover said.
Resources include past HSC exams and sample answers, credible commentaries for HSC subject areas, study materials, and student and teacher notes, as well as guides and tips for students and their parents on preparing for and completing the HSC exams.
These are all provided in one easy-to-search place and are available using various devices including computers, tablets and smartphones.
While tailored for NSW students, the Charles Sturt University Guide for HSC Students website has also been recognised for the useful material it provides in a range of curriculum areas for senior high school students across Australia.
The original HSC site was commenced by Charles Sturt staff in the late 1990s in collaboration with the NSW Board of studies and the NSW Department of Education, and was re-launched in 2017.
Since then, the Charles Sturt University Guide for HSC Students website has received nearly 43,000 visitors, with nearly 16,000 visitors in 2018. On one day in August that year it received nearly 4,000 visitors.
“This valuable HSC studies website provides students and teachers across NSW with high-quality and professionally sourced online study materials. As such, it should be a regular link for all HSC student computers and school websites,” Mr Grover said.
