Charles
Sturt University (CSU) today announced Joss Construction as head builder of its
new School of Engineering.
The
$13 million project will redevelop existing buildings at CSU in Bathurst into a modern,
practical facility for innovative learning and teaching in the engineering and
business sectors.
Foundation Professor of Engineering Professor Euan Lindsay said the uniqueness
of the facility and course delivery will combine to produce graduates who will
have a competitive edge in the corporate world.
"We're aiming to produce highly-skilled, entrepreneurial engineers who are
equipped to step straight into industry or start their own businesses – we want
to produce engineers who can change the world," Professor Lindsay said.
The design will incorporate the latest technologies, encourage teamwork and
provide facilities for students to showcase construction creativity in project
spaces, workshops and a gallery. There will also be a 'pitch zone' for students
to hone their entrepreneurial skills.
Work on the site commenced this week and will be completed by the end of
December 2015.

Construction is one of regional Australia's premium building contractors and
has helped deliver a number of CSU projects, including the $13 million
Community Health and Wellness Clinic at CSU Bathurst and the $45 million
National Life Science Hub at CSU Wagga Wagga.
