Charles Sturt University (CSU) today announced that Ms Miriam Dayhew has been appointed as the new Head of Campus at Wagga Wagga.
Ms Dayhew is the University Ombudsman based in Wagga Wagga, and plays a major role University-wide to build a positive and supportive culture for staff and students.
With a background of senior positions in NSW Health, Ms Dayhew has direct knowledge of one of the key priorities for our regions and CSU, particularly the need to ensure equity in the delivery of health and community services to people in rural and regional areas.
From her previous role as Murrumbidgee Division Controller with the State Emergency Service and multiple volunteer roles, she also has extensive networks within our communities and the capacity to share that knowledge to help shape our future planning for the campus and the University’s regions.
CSU Vice-Chancellor, Professor Andrew Vann said, “Miriam has a passion for the development of our regions and community engagement, and has been an active contributor to the thinking of the University around how to better meet the needs of our communities through higher education and research.”
Director Corporate Affairs and University Secretary Mr Mark Burdack said, “I am particularly keen to work with Miriam given her strong engagement with Riverina communities and her background in the health system. She will contribute strongly to the development of our multi-campus medical school initiative and to help us ensure that the needs of the Riverina are met through the Wagga Wagga Campus.”
Ms Dayhew replaces Mr Adrian Lindner as Head of Campus.
The Head of Campus position is held by a current position holder of the University, in addition to their substantive responsibilities, for a period of up to four years. The position is filled by an expression of interest received from full-time staff of the University.
Heads of Campus are appointed for each of the campuses of the University and are members of the Vice-Chancellor’s Forum, Heads of Campus Committee and convene the Regional Consultative Committee for each region of the University.
The Head of Campus plays a lead role in working with our communities and civic leaders to inform regional and campus planning.
