Charles Sturt University’s (CSU) Australian Graduate School of Policing (AGSP) based in Manly, NSW welcomes the Federal Coalition’s promise of $11.2 million announced during the election campaign.
The Prime Minister John Howard has stated that, if the Coalition wins the October poll, facilities at the Australian Institute of Police Management (AIPM) at Manly, Sydney will be upgraded. The Australian Graduate School of Policing, CSU, is co-located with the AIPM on the Collins Beach Road site.
“Offering a range of postgraduate courses in policing, the AGSP will be a direct beneficiary of the improved facilities at the AIPM,” said Prime Minister John Howard.
“We are delighted with the announcement which clearly supports the introduction of programs such as our new Management and Leadership (Policing) course,” said Head of the Australian Graduate School of Policing, Associate Professor Tracey Green.
“Our postgraduate programs articulate with AIPM and other Australasian police jurisdictions and this announcement will ensure the school remains at the forefront of policing in this country.”
The Australian Graduate School of Policing is Australia's leading provider of postgraduate higher education award programs for members of police services. Located within the Faculty of Arts at CSU, the school began in 1993 with fewer than 50 students.
It now has more than 400 students from around the world. Courses available at the Australian Graduate School of Policing include:
- Graduate Certificate in Leadership and Management (Policing)
- Graduate Diploma of Leadership and Management (Policing)
