The Charles Sturt Foundation has grown from $1 million to $7 million since its inception, and helped thousands of students and distributed more than $5 million since 1984. This Thursday 15 March, the Foundation Board of Directors & Investment Committee will meet at the Bathurst Campus of Charles Sturt University and farewell as Chair Mr Bruce Cameron. Mr Cameron has been involved with the Foundation Board in all its forms since its very beginnings – a total of 22 years. He says “of course” it has been a rewarding experience. “You live in your community so you help your community. It has been nice to see it grow from $1 million to $7 million, and to think we have given out over $5 million in scholarships since 1984 which assist around 200 students each year - that’s a lot of students over a long period of time that we have helped.” Although Mr Cameron will step down as Chair, he will remain on the Investment Committee to provide “continuity. The Foundation is keen to adapt its role within the vision of the University”.
Media are invited to attend the Foundation Board of Directors & Investment Committee meeting for a photo opportunity on Thursday 15 March at The Grange, CSU Bathurst Campus at 1.15pm.
