Charles Sturt University (CSU) has maintained its five-star ranking for graduate employment and salaries in the 2006 edition of the Good Universities Guide.
The highest ranking of five-stars was also secured because of the large number of international enrolments at the University, which reached 8 446 students in 2004.
“The success of Charles Sturt University reflected in these national indicators supports CSU’s work in building its course profile with the skill demands of Australia in mind, particularly professions that relate to regional Australia,” said Vice-Chancellor Professor Ian Goulter.
“This has driven our move into critical areas such as pharmacy, physiotherapy and most recently veterinary science - areas that are changing the face of our communities.”
“The maintenance of the two-star rating for research intensity in the 2006 edition of the Good Universities Guide is consistent with CSU’s long term commitment to improve the research profile of Charles Sturt University.”
“The development of quality research as well as quality teaching is a vital ingredient for all universities and the exposure of staff and students and our communities to an environment of new knowledge generation and critical inquiry,” concluded Professor Goulter.
