NSW Minister for Innovation, Science and Technology the Hon. Anoulack Chanthivong visited Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga on Tuesday 30 January for a Regional Innovation Roundtable.
Minister Chanthivong toured the Charles Sturt AgriPark facility, which connects researchers, industry leaders and government to tackle the challenges facing the agriculture industry.
Charles Sturt University Vice-Chancellor Professor Renée Leon PSM said it was a pleasure to welcome Minister Chanthivong to the University as a hub for regional innovation.
“Charles Sturt is at the forefront of innovation across the board, but our agricultural research is truly leading the way on a global scale,” Professor Leon said.
“To be able to showcase this and all that the University has to offer to Minister Chanthivong was a wonderful opportunity, along with contributing valuable insights during the Regional Innovation Roundtable.”
The Minister also met with AgriPark Executive Director Nick Pagett who demonstrated the research underway at the University’s facility.
The Roundtable brought together 25 innovation leaders and representatives of businesses from the Riverina region to contribute to a NSW Innovation Blueprint, setting the vision and conditions NSW needs to succeed in the global battle for ideas, industry development and talent.
The Innovation Blueprint is due to be released later this year.
