Amongst the first group of honours graduates from Charles Sturt University's Bachelor of Cultural Studies and Cultural Policy receiving awards tomorrow (Friday), will be University Medallist Adele Morey.

For her Honours thesis, Adele took a journey back in time to explore the popular romance fiction of English 20th Century writer Georgette Heyer, whose work is set in the early 1800s.

"I looked at why these novels might be attractive to women readers and explored a range of gender issues which I found were very relevant today," she said.

Now employed with the Department of Education, Training and Youth Affairs in Canberra Adele says the CSU degree was everything she expected and more.

"Coming from the Blue Mountains, I had the choice to study in Sydney or come to CSU but I chose this degree because it was the only Uni course offering what I really wanted to do," she said.

A CSU Foundation Scholarship winner in 1994, Adele said she has never looked back from her time at CSU and was very proud to be part of the inaugural class of cultural studies students.
