Charles Sturt University (CSU) in Australia will renew one of its most signficant and long-standing international relationships with the signing of a new cooperation agreement with HELP University College in Malaysia.
During the decade long relationship between CSU and HELP, an estimated 2 500 students have graduated from the program.
CSU President and Vice Chancellor Professor Ian Goulter and HELP President and Founder Dr Paul Chan will renew the cooperative agreement with a contract signing in the Shangria-La Hotel Kuala Lumpur from 1.30pm, this Sunday 21 October 2007.
The agreement will enable the delivery of CSU business and information technology programs through HELP for a further five years.
The signing will be followed by the awarding of postgraduate and undergraduate CSU degrees in business administration, information technology, business, primary school teaching and medical imaging.
The Australian High Commissioner to Malaysia, Ms Penny Williams, heads the guest list at the graduation ceremony in the Shangri-La Hotel Kuala Lumpur from 2.30pm.
Ms Williams will deliver the occasional address at the ceremony where over 170 students are eligible to receive their awards.
A speaker of Arabic, Indonesian and Spanish, the High Commissioner holds a Bachelor of Arts in Asian Studies (Honours).
Also attending the graduation ceremony with High Commissioner Williams and CSU President and Vice-Chancellor Professor Ian Goulter will be CSU Chancellor Mr Lawrence Willett AO, who will present the awards to the graduates.
CSU has about 35 000 students enrolled in over 500 courses. As the largest non metropolitan university in Australia, CSU transcends national and international borders to offer courses in a number of flexible ways. They include on-campus in regional Australia, study at home by distance education or in another country with CSU partners such as HELP.
