For the fifth consecutive year two Charles Sturt University (CSU) student advertising teams will compete in the finals of the annual national student marketing communications competition.
Ms Anne Llewellynn, advertising lecturer in the CSU School of Communication and Creative Industries in Bathurst, said the Kajulu Blue and Kajulu Red teams will represent the University as two of the four finalists presentations for the International Advertising Association (IAA) 2014 'Big Idea' national champions' title in Sydney on Monday 3 November.
"This is a huge achievement," Ms Llewellynn said.
"We competed against more than 100 students and 16 teams from eight tertiary institutions, so it is a fantastic result to have two teams in the finals for the fifth consecutive year. No other university has ever had two teams selected to be in the top four finalists."
Each year the IAA selects a major national charity or organisation as the beneficiary of the competing student advertising campaign pitches. The 2014 charity/organisation Legacy . The judging panel consists of senior advertising industry representatives and two senior marketing executives from Legacy Australia.
The CSU student teams are:
Kajulu Blue: Ms Jacqui Osborne (Team Leader), Ms Stephanie Allen, Mr Sean Bowman, Ms Elizabeth Mellor (public relations), Ms Isabella Rigg, Mr Nick Rutherford and Ms Kerri-Anne Chin (graphic design);
Kajulu Red: Ms Anne Brooke (Team Leader), Ms Maryanne Ferguson, Mr Bayden Parker-Brown (public relations), Mr Declan Peach, Ms Stephanie Plunkett, Mr John-Paul Polito and Ms Karen Lucas (graphic design).
The other two finalist teams are 'Port Collective' from the Academy of Design Australia, Victoria, and 'Digitall Age' from the University of the Sunshine Coast, Queensland.
