NSW Premier, The Hon. Barry O’Farrell, MP, has warned residents to prepare for what could be the worst fire day in the state’s history with temperatures to soar above 40 degrees, record rains producing large fuel loads and winds of up to 80 kilometres an hour predicted.

Expert and lecturer in emergency management, Mr Ian Manock, can speak on
emergency management during natural disasters. Ian Manock previously worked as a Regional Emergency Management Officer with the Tasmania State Emergency Service for eight years. In this position, Mr Manock was responsible for maintaining the preparedness of regional emergency management plans. He has also acted as an adviser to local and state government agencies and private industry in the preparation of local emergency management plans and procedures.
Adjunct lecturer in fire investigation, Ross Brogan, with the
Australian Graduate School of Policing and Security, http://www.csu.edu.au/faculty/arts/agsps/about-the-school is a former fire investigator with NSW Fire Brigades. Mr Brogan specialises in determining the cause of fires. “There are now more deliberate fires occurring and this has led to the NSW Police Force re-establishing Strike Force Tronto,” he said. Strike Force Tronto is led by detectives from the Property Crime Squad’s Arson Unit who closely with local police to investigative deliberately-lit bushfires.
