Commentators on bushfire management and ecology

The continuing bushfire emergency in North East Victoria, southern NSW and the ACT has generated renewed interest in bushfire management and ecology, including the regeneration of the native bushland environment after bushfires.

The continuing bushfire emergency in North East Victoria, southern NSW and the ACT has generated renewed interest in bushfire management and ecology, including the regeneration of the native bushland environment after bushfires.

Over more than 20 years, Charles Sturt University has developed considerable expertise in these areas, as well as in national park management.

Interviews can be arranged with:

  • Associate Professor Nick Klomp, a noted science and ecology media commentator, with expertise in landscape ecology and wildlife management. 
  • Dr Brian Lord, an expert in fire ecology and fire management.
  • Dr Ian Lunt, an expert in native vegetation ecology and regeneration (unavailable until Monday 10 February).
  • Dr Geoff Burrows, an expert in bush regeneration who recently published ground-breaking research into how gumtrees regenerate after bushfires.
