Charles Sturt University researchers Gerry Voll and Dr Bill Robbins have completed and published research looking at small businesses in regional Australia and unfair dismissal laws. Mr Voll, a senior business lecturer and researcher, is available for comment on this research, referring to 600 small businesses in the Albury-Wodonga region in 2003.

In one of the largest surveys ever carried out with Australian small businesses, the researchers found that 37 per cent of small businesses in Albury-Wodonga on the NSW-Victorian border said they should be exempt from Federal unfair dismissal laws, while 38 per cent said they should not and 21 per cent were unsure.
