With more than $10 million in scholarships, there’s something for everyone

Applications for more than 3,000 Charles Sturt scholarships and grants for 2026, worth more than $10 million, are now open.

  • Charles Sturt to offer more than 3,000 scholarships valued at $10 million to commencing and continuing students in 2026
  • Scholarship applications opened on Monday 22 September and close late January or early February

Charles Sturt University commencing and continuing students will have the chance to share in more than $10 million worth of scholarships and grants in 2026 to help alleviate financial burdens as they pursue their higher education dreams.

Charles Sturt will offer more than 3,000 scholarships and grants, comprised of a mixture of Charles Sturt Foundation Trust and equity scholarships.

Charles Sturt Foundation Trust CEO Ms Sarah Ansell said scholarships and grants were easy to apply for and eligible students can apply for more than one.

“You don’t need to get the best grades or fall into a specific category of location, talent or hardship to be able to reap the rewards of our scholarships,” she said.

“There is something for everyone and we encourage you to apply for as many as are applicable to you.”

Scholarships from the Foundation Trust’s offerings focus on the student’s impact in the community and the impact their studies will have on them.

Ms Ansell said Foundation Trust scholarships are more about supporting a student’s ambitions than academic merit.

“Donors are interested in a student’s story - who you are, what you strive for and how you can support your community,” she said.

There are scholarship and grant options for First Nations students, low-income earners, people in rural or remote areas, international students, women based in Sydney looking to study online, and more.

Ms Ansell attributes the breadth of scholarships to the wonderful donors who want to encourage and support the next generation of professionals in our regions.

“Charles Sturt University is proud of its continued relationships with local businesses, government and community members as they support our students’ ambitions and efforts to achieve their career goals through a university education,” she said.

Acting Manager of Scholarships and Financial Support Services with Charles Sturt’s Division of Student Experience Ms Jessica Peters said scholarships can help cover the costs of accommodation, travel and essentials, such as textbooks and laptops.

“The process is quick and easy, simply visit our Charles Sturt Scholarships website and explore the extensive list of options,” she said.

“Securing a scholarship could make all the difference to your studies by taking away the financial pressure of accommodation and other essential university expenses, such as textbooks, laptops and even costs associated with work placements if a student’s course has placement work included.”

A full list of scholarships and grants and details for the applications processes and requirements are currently available online. More information on how to give to Charles Sturt students is also available online.
