Hundreds of school and university students will seek careers information when Charles Sturt University in Bathurst hosts the annual Bathurst Careers Expo from 9am to 3pm on Wednesday 2 August.

The Expo is held in the CD Blake Auditorium (the University gym, building 1220) on Village Drive.

Charles Sturt University Director of External Engagement (Orange and Bathurst) Ms Julia Andrews said this year’s expo will be the biggest ever, providing attendees with an excellent opportunity to discuss their career aspirations.

“The Bathurst Careers Expo is proudly sponsored by Charles Sturt University and is held each year, since 2014, to provide the opportunity for school students and job seekers to meet a variety of education providers, local employers and government agencies,” she said.

“The Expo moved to Charles Sturt University in 2022 to allow more exhibitors to attend and this year approximately 89 educational institutions and businesses have registered so far.

“Final numbers are yet to be determined, however, last year we had eight Bathurst region schools and 730 students attend, and an estimated 150 members of the public also attended.”

Encouraging local students to study on campus at Charles Sturt in Bathurst is a goal of both the University and Bathurst Regional Council’s Economic Development team.

“This Expo is open to school students and the public to learn about career options, and it provides the attendees the opportunity to learn more about the University and its subject offerings,” Ms Andrews said.

“We also encourage all Charles Sturt University students to attend and to speak to the exhibitors to assist with their career aspiration goals.”

Participating schools include Blayney High School, Denison College - Bathurst and Kelso, MacKillop College, St Stanislaus College, Skillset Senior College, Scots All Saints College, Canowindra High School, Lithgow High School, and Portland Central School.

Examples of the 85 organisations, companies and businesses attending include:
