Charles Sturt strengthens ties with Yangzhou University at international conference

The Gulbali Institute’s involvement in the conference underscores Charles Sturt’s dedication to global engagement, sustainability and cultural exchange.

Charles Sturt University continues to foster international partnerships which deliver benefits for students, researchers and communities in Australia and overseas.

Deputy Director of the Gulbali Institiute for Agriculture, Water and Environment, Professor Cameron Clark, recently visited Yangzhou University in China to represent the University at a major international conference. 

Professor Clark participated in the Canals Through Ages’ conference on canal sustainability, which brought together global experts, scholars and partner institutions to explore the cultural, environmental and social significance of canal systems worldwide. 

Professor Clark engaged in academic discussions, exploring future collaborative opportunities and joining industry tours and cultural activities to deepen understanding of the history and cultural context of China’s Grand Canal. 

Charles Sturt’s Joint Cooperation Program with Yangzhou University has been a cornerstone of the University’s international collaboration since 1999. 

Over the past 26 years, the partnership has supported the success of more than 13,300 China graduands, reflecting a shared commitment to advancing education and research. 

Professor Clark’s visit highlights the strength of this long-standing relationship, built on trust and mutual vision.
