- It is important to encourage young people as future leaders in their communities
Charles Sturt University (CSU) proudly supports and is a sponsor of the NSW state final of the Lions Youth of the Year awards at Tamworth on Saturday 13 April.
CSU Strategic Adviser, Regional Development, Ms Fiona Nash (pictured) will attend the awards functions, and speak at the special lunch for contestants and their parents.
Ms Nash said, “Young people are the future of this country.
“For regional Australia, leadership is particularly important, and the participants in Lions Youth of the Year show they have that quality in spades.
“Charles Sturt University is very proud to be involved in this contest, and to support Lions in encouraging young people to have confidence, to put themselves forward as future leaders in their communities.”
Contestants in the Lions Youth of the Year are high school students in Years 11 and 12 from the five NSW Lions Districts. In 2018, there were approximately 400 contestants from the five districts and all the finalists were from Year 12.
