- Open Days allow future students to learn about studying at Charles Sturt
- Open Day includes tours of the University’s nursing simulation centre, academic facilities and accommodation
- Potential students can attend course information sessions, an interactive panel discussion with Dubbo business experts, and a session on how to apply to university
For the first time in more than a decade, Charles Sturt University (Charles Sturt) in Dubbo will host an Open Day for prospective students and their families on Friday 30 August.
Charles Sturt's marketing coordinator Hilary Matchett said, “The Open Day in Dubbo will include tours of Charles Sturt’s campus, academic facilities and accommodation, information sessions on a number of Charles Sturt courses, and the opportunity for attendees to speak directly with the University’s academic staff and current students.
“The day is a great opportunity for prospective students in the Far West and Central West regions to learn more about university, the different courses on offer at Charles Sturt, and all of the different aspects of uni life.
“It is also a great chance for the local community to visit the Dubbo campus and find out more about what we do.”
Some of the highlights for the Open Day in Dubbo include a tour of the nursing simulation centre, an interactive panel discussion with local business experts, and the chance to explore environmental and sustainability career opportunities.
The Open Day in Dubbo is on between 4pm and 6pm, with free food, giveaways and competitions available on the day.
There will several information sessions, including one for parents, one on how to apply to university and one on the Charles Sturt Advantage early entry program.
Prospective students will also have the opportunity to learn more about Charles Sturt’s courses, with information sessions spanning communications and creative industries, education, agriculture, business, health, social work, dentistry and the new Joint Program in Medicine with Charles Sturt and Western Sydney University scheduled throughout the afternoon.
The Open Day will also provide prospective students with information on Charles Sturt’s sports teams, and events and social activities in Dubbo.

Open Days are being held at six of the University’s campuses between Sunday 4 August and Friday 6 September, and will run regardless of weather conditions.
