- Acclaimed author to discuss his new book The Kindness Revolution at Charles Sturt University in Port Macquarie on Wednesday 2 June
Renowned Australian author and social commentator Mr Hugh Mackay (pictured) will speak about his new book, The Kindness Revolution, at Charles Sturt University in Port Macquarie on Wednesday 2 June.
Mr Mackay’s book explores topics arising from the succession of crises that have swept Australia in recent times and examines the potential for optimism arising from the altruistic responses of Australians as individuals and communities.
He argues for personal and collective reflection on the values that see us through catastrophes and which will hopefully advance us as individuals, communities and as a nation.
Director of External Engagement at Charles Sturt in Port Macquarie Ms Kate Wood-Foye said, “Charles Sturt has invited Hugh MacKay to inspire guests to make the most of our collective possibilities to create a kinder, stronger, more compassionate community and country by working consciously to create a world worth living in.
“This presentation about The Kindness Revolution is part of a community engagement program of events exploring our communities’ triumph, resilience and potential for reinvention following a challenging year of mental, emotional and economic disruption including fire, pandemic and flood.”
