A new course at Charles Sturt University (CSU) will provide professionals with the opportunity to contribute to Australia's growing sports industry.
The Graduate Certificate in Sports Administration will be delivered in partnership by CSU's Faculty of Business and the Australian College of Physical Education (ACPE).
The online course consists of four subjects including sports administration, accounting and finance in sports administration, delivered by ACPE, and two subjects, marketing and business strategy, delivered by CSU.
"This course has been designed to prepare students for a broad choice of career options with the grounding in sports and management the industry is looking for," course director at CSU's Faculty of Business Dr Lan Snell said.
"The course exemplifies Charles Sturt University's reputation for developing innovative, highly differentiated qualifications that meet the changing needs of industry.
"We designed the course with sports managers and professional athletes in mind. It provides opportunities to develop skills and knowledge in key areas and will open up opportunities for further study and career progression, which is particularly important for professional athletes looking to move onto their next chapter."
ACPE, part of the Study Group Australasia network, believe the program will set students apart in the industry.
