- Charles Sturt Open Days at five campuses in July and August will offer prospective students course information sessions, campus tours and more
- Charles Sturt boasts top employment rates and salaries, connecting graduates with industry to open up career opportunities
University students in 2027 are invited to take the first step toward their dream careers at Charles Sturt University’s Open Days.
Open Days will be held at the University’s Port Macquarie, Wagga Wagga, Bathurst, Orange and Albury-Wodonga campuses in July and August.
School leavers, TAFE students, career-changers and online learners will get the chance to explore campuses and courses, and to speak with the University’s staff and students about how to kickstart their careers.
Charles Sturt graduates enjoy some of the highest employment rates and salaries in the country.
The Good Universities Guide places Charles Sturt first among Australian universities for full‑time employment, with more than 90 per cent of undergraduates finding work within four months of completing their degree. The University’s graduates also earn the second‑highest starting median salary in Australia at $75,100.
Charles Sturt leads Australian universities in undergraduate employment rates in law and paralegal studies (96 per cent), nursing (95 per cent) and social work (93 per cent), and is in the top three universities nationally for business management (91 per cent), health services and support (90 per cent), agriculture and environmental studies (90 per cent) and psychology (81 per cent).
Charles Sturt Vice‑Chancellor Professor Renée Leon said Open Day is the perfect opportunity for prospective students to see how those results come about.
“In addition to our leading graduate outcomes, we are also in the top five Australian universities for student satisfaction in the latest national survey,” Professor Leon said.
“There are good reasons for these results. Charles Sturt provides hands‑on learning, strong industry connections and, for regional students, the ability to study locally while accessing world‑class education.
“Open Day is where prospective students can discover how our courses and industry connections will help them bring their dream careers to life.”
In addition to learning about courses and campuses, Open Day attendees can meet staff and attend information sessions from:
- Charles Sturt Advantage: Charles Sturt’s early entry program for school students
- Residence Life: accommodation options at campuses
- First Nations Student Connect: services for First Nations students
- Connected Pathways Program: helping TAFE and VET students access university courses
- Applications and admissions team
The Open Days are designed to support a diverse audience, including school leavers exploring their first degree, TAFE students looking to progress to a Bachelors course, mature‑aged students considering a career change, and those seeking flexible online study options.
