In a boost to research at Charles Sturt University, Head of the Bathurst Campus Dr Peter Hodgson today announced two new initiatives to increase the number of scholarships that will be made available to research students studying at Bathurst.
Dr Hodgson made the announcement during this afternoon's Mitchell Foundation Trust Scholarship Ceremony.
The Mitchell Foundation Trust has identified two priority areas that will improve opportunities for research students at the Bathurst Campus, Dr Hodgson said.
The first is the introduction of new scholarships that will assist research students on the Bathurst Campus.
"From next year the Mitchell Foundation Trust will be awarding new scholarships to research students on the Bathurst Campus and scholarships for Honours students," Dr Hodgson said.
"The new scholarships are intended to support and further develop research on the Bathurst Campus," he said.
The second initiative is the introduction of the Air New Zealand Travel Overseas Scholarship, which will enable students to undertake study overseas.
"The Foundation recognises the importance of a broad research base and the study opportunities that exist overseas. These scholarships offer our students a wealth of opportunities and the learning they will gain in return will be of benefit to both themselves and the University," Dr Hodgson said.
