Frisbees, footballs and lawn bowls will feature in the hunt for gold medals by more than 200 Charles Sturt University (CSU) students at the 2014 Eastern University Games at Newcastle in July.
Students
from CSU in Albury-Wodonga, Bathurst, Dubbo, Orange, Port Macquarie and Wagga
Wagga are represented in the 263 member-team to participate at the Games from Sunday
6 July to Thursday 10 July.
Mr Nik Granger, acting manager, Student Support at CSU, said, "Charles Sturt University is also pleased that 20 distance education students are part of our 2014 team.
"As a multi campus institution with a large number of distance education students, the Games are a great chance for the students to come to one location to represent the University.
"However, this event is not just about sport or winning. It is also about living and learning together and experiencing the whole University, meeting new people, establishing networks and engaging with the University," said Mr Granger, who has previously attended the Games as a student.
Students Mr Beau Greenway and Ms Olivia Patterson, both from CSU in Bathurst, will represent the team during the opening ceremony in Newcastle on Sunday 6 July. Both are familiar with gold, with Mr Greenway a member of the Open Lawn Bowls team and Ms Patterson in the Touch Football team.
The CSU team is supported by the Office of Student Services.
