The staff and students of the University’s Wagga Wagga Campus have also been affected, with the University’s main Boorooma site closed on Tuesday 6 March due to the major floods in and around the city of Wagga Wagga.
Head of CSU’s Wagga Wagga Campus, Mr Adrian Lindner emphasised, however, that the University’s own buildings, facilities and student residences were located well above the expected flood levels.
“Due to the scale of the expected flooding, the University has taken the precaution of closing its main site at Boorooma to the north of Wagga Wagga to reduce the need for staff and students to travel to and from the campus site. Staff and students were reminded not attempt to travel to the campus to reduce pressures on local emergency services,” Mr Lindner said.
“Cross campus teaching activities originating from the Wagga Wagga Campus are cancelled for today, Tuesday 6 March. The University’s other site known as ‘South Campus’ is open for normal operations, although disruptions could be expected due to the local floods and road closures."
He said the University will monitor the situation throughout the day and issue further advice to staff and students regarding the closure.
